We are always interested in opportunities to reach out to promote the work we do and the services we offer to NFU members, as they represent the core of our customer base. With over 45,000 NFU Farmer and Grower members, we feel strongly there is much scope for us to help and advise them in many ways such as how to:
- Ensure they are being energy efficient in their farms and related businesses.
- Access some of the best gas & electric contract rates on offer (by joining our NFU Electricity Buying Group)
- Take advantage of our expertise when it comes to the world of renewable energy. We are on hand to provide advice and support to make informed investment decisions, to fully utilise the various support schemes on offer and with the ever-increasing levels of scrutiny from regulatory bodies, to ensure they are taking the appropriate measures to ensure ongoing compliance.
One way for us to spread this message to NFU members is through the NFU Group Secretaries and County Advisors. These are the people at the coal face, well placed to understand members energy related concerns and the support they are looking for. This is vital feedback, as it helps us to ensure our products and services are relevant and of benefit.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with NFU colleagues and members, to get out and attend local and regional shows, Group Secretary meetings and local branch meetings. Recent examples, for instance, include the Royal Cornwall Show in Wadebridge, Cornwall, where we supported the fantastic work being done by the NFU South West team. Closer to home, we attended the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Group Secretaries meeting in Thame, Oxon and had the opportunity to present to the team. In July, we will be supporting the NFU team at the Royal Welsh show with a dedicated Energy Zone day. All these events are invaluable opportunities to spread the NFU Energy message and hear back from colleagues and members.
If you are planning to attend your local show or members meeting and you see us a member of our team, please come and talk to us about your energy related matters. Alternatively, speak to your local NFU representative who will be happy to contact us on your behalf, or if you prefer, call CallFirst and they will ensure that your question or query is passed to us to follow up with you directly.
If you are a colleague planning a NFU members meeting or show in the coming months and are interested in us coming along in support, please contact me on 024 7669 6512.
