Our story of becoming NFU Energy
Founded on 5 July 1967 as the Farm Electric Centre, our original office was opened by the Queen Mother at the Royal Show in Stoneleigh. Created within the nationalised electricity industry, we pioneered the use of electrical and energy innovations in agriculture and horticulture shaping many of the techniques still in use today. In 1990, we became Farm Energy, reflecting our wider focus on all forms of energy and a decade later, the business became independent as FEC Services. Over the years, we expanded beyond farming to serve commercial and industrial clients, rebranding as FEC Energy before joining the NFU group in 2017. Today, as NFU Energy, we are one of the UK’s leading and most trusted energy consultancies grounded in agriculture, yet working across sectors. Our mission is to help businesses achieve their energy goals, cut carbon, and unlock new income through innovative energy solutions.- Inclusive – valuing every voice
