In addition to the Farm Productivity Grant and the Improving Agri-Food business grants announced earlier this month, there is also another grant scheme available under the Rural Development Programme for England banner of improving countryside productivity. This grant is available to help create new woodlands, our associate Kevin Lindegaard of Crops for Energy has written a blog on this subject and says:
“If you are thinking of planting woodland then you should get ready to apply for the Countryside Stewardship Woodland Creation Grant in 2018. The scheme is very generous and pays up to a maximum of £6,800 per planted hectare!... In addition, applicants can apply for a Woodland Creation Maintenance payments of £200 per hectare per year to support the successful establishment and on-going maintenance of new woodland.”
